Models: Angela Lindvall and Kirsty Hume by Michael Thompson

Note from WWD

"...Valentino's campaign was shot by Michael Thompson and features models Angela Lindvall and Kirsty Hume. The campaign is a continuation of last season's "bird's-eye view" theme. The company said its ad budget has increased 30 percent over last year. "

Brand: Valentino
Year: Spring/Summer 1998
Model: John Pearson and Danielle Zinaich
Ph: Michael Thompson

Note from WWD

"...The Valentino campaign also plays with camera angles. Photographed for the first time by Michael Thompson, with art direction by Alex Gonzalez and Raul Martinez, the entire campaign was shot from above. The images feature Danielle Zinaich and John Pearson lying back, looking up, separately and together.

The Very Valentino campaign is product-driven, has more of a commercial feel and features models Aurelie and Elsa and Thom Gwin.

Valentino, which has been acquired by the Fiat group investment company HdP, which also controls designer apparel maker GFT, said it would increase its advertising budget 35 percent for the spring/summer '98 season. The media buy will be concentrated in the U.S. and Italy, and will focus on daily newspapers with large, double-spread formats and prime positions where possible."

I just found in the blog of Bruce Hulse a nice entry about him and John Pearson

"I had a delightful lunch at the Shangri-La Hotel in Santa Monica today with my old model buddy John Pearson. The Shangri-La just went through a 31 million dollar renovation and looks magnificent. The food was amazing. Salad Nicoise for me and a Lobster Cobb salad for John.

We both used to stay there back in the 80’s and 90’s when it was the place to stay for many of the acting and modeling crowd. Besides being an amazing model who has consistently worked with the best over the 25 years, John is a true gentleman with a quick wit and huge heart.

We talked about Love, death, women, children, soccer, metaphysics, photographers, agents and God knows what else. To say the least the lunch was memorable. Nothing like good food with a great friend, sitting pool side and just enjoying a free flowing conversation about Life.

I met John 25 years ago on a shoot in the Hamptons and he has kept his positive, loving self intact. He just moved to LA with his wife and kids and I am glad that he will be near by!

Peace and Love Bruce"

I'm loving those pics, I had only seen 3 pics of that campaign with Cameron and I didn't know that John Pearson was also there, he also did Valentino advertising in 1987 and if I'm not wrong in 1998.

The model of the last 2 pics is neither John nor Cameron, I'm now wondering who he is.

Source: pics scanned by none other than AngelLover, thanks!!!!!
