GQ "Fall Preview: Up and Autumn" Year: Fall 1987 Model: Frederick Washburn Ph: Guy Marineau Fashion: Comme des Garçons, Jean Paul Gaultier, Kenzo, Claude Montana, Thierry Mugler, Yohi Yamamoto
Absolutely brilliant. Though there is no one peice that really stands out, taken together the collection is amazingly effective. This also exemplifies the late 80s/early 90s color palette: mustardy earth tones splashed with deep rich blues, greens, and purples. The clothes are still defiantly formal, but blend casual and classic quite well. Note the boyish, tousled, anti-mullet haircut.
