Is this guy a model or a stunt double for Aladin in a Disney film? Who wears leather tunics with no buttons and a contrasting leather sash for a belt? He looks bored as well, perhaps he is a Turkish Waiter.
Johec my man! Too busy doing book summary's to make any responses? Keep up the good work. Italian Vogue, August 1982 had a few editorials of Daryl, I think so, not sure, just a hunch. And a Christian Dior campaign with Kane Sikner and Fabrizio G at the same time.

Just read a review for the "Supernova of modeling", (Bruce "The incredible Hulse"). Wow! He got lit up by a female journalist, big time! I guess he did not even write "Sex, Love and Delusional narcissist". I am so very dissapointed. I have a few "Hulse-meister" stories from the south of France and Guadalupe that would add some serious perspective on Capt. "Weird-Body". By the way, where is the not so famous "super-nobody" Daryl Janney? I heard he was interested in writing a book to entertain as well as alter the perspective that most have of the business during the early 80's. Keep me posted.
What type of book is of optimal interest; a look into the real world of modeling (not the fantasy world of Capt. Brucey), short stories of the people that one anonymous model worked with and met during his brief foray into the biz, or a novel of the world as viewed from an insider that was really an outsider? (think Holden C. from Catcher in the Rye). Talk amongst yourselves, please.
Hi DJ, well, it depends on what everyone likes, I really liked the book of Bruce Hulse, fantasy or not, because he wrote about interesting topics to me, GQ editors, Herb Ritts, Bruce Weber, Tatjana Patitz, Cindy Crawford, Paulina Porizkova, Elle McPherson, about him of course ..... the fashion world of the 80's.
So since that perspective "short stories of the people that one anonymous model worked with and met during his brief foray into the biz" sounds great! ;)
btw, not many people read the comments so don't expect many opinions :))
Espana versionne? J.D. Salinger would be pleased. Have to get my hands on the Bruce H. version of the world of modeling. Actually know the man from a few jobs (south of france and guadalupe). Big jobs, although I was not sufficiently blinded by the light of this "super nova". FYI, D.J. was the youngest of all the models (at least 11 years younger than super H.). Most of the photos on this site are from when he was 19. Although not as seasoned and mature as capt. B, D.J. knew enough to order chicken instead of 2 lobster dinners on the clients tab. Ah, the "Ugly American". Knew all those cats except Patitz, although Bruce had more time in front of the camera 25 years vs 3 years. Although I think Willy Shakespeare wrote a play that would more accurately describe the prose of "Memoir"..."Much Ado about nothing". In your internet surfing can you estimate the amount of people interested in the "Stone Age" of modeling? Keep me posted, peace out.
yep, an spanish version, not perfectly translated but I got the message ;)
btw D.J, why don't you share some of your fab pics for this website? :)
In your internet surfing can you estimate ....
Well, most people remember the good old days as a whole thing, probably the faces, but they hardly know the names of the male models, like me 2 years ago, I only knew a few names, if it were not for that great modelscomposites.com website I would have never known the names of many models, that's what motivated me to open this blog, and then visitors have identified the rest.
This blog is not hugely popular like others of young models or nude men. yesterday it had 1,176 hits, 537 unique visitors + 639 reloads, that's like the average daily.
you could contact Peter Marlowe, the owner of modelscomposites.com, maybe he could tell you how popular his website is, he seems very friendly, I have seen his posts in facebook.
Does that mean 429,240 hits per year? Wow. I could really get behind a book that could be reviewed and maybe recommended by you from this blog. It was a fascinating time, although lost on me for the most part. Time to get to work. Thanks for the information, literally had no idea. A page turner with a Holden insight it is then.
I grew up with all those wonderful GQ editorials in the 80s. I liked Hulse's book. Perhaps because it was my first glimpse into a world I had only looked at before, but I'd love to read another perspective. Good luck with your book, DJ!

I think this same model did a ton of work for Fabrizio Gianni in the early 80's. Wonder if you can locate some of those classic photos.

I wish I had Italian mags but this poor man only can buy some cheap vintage GQs =))
I love Italian mags, they were the best magazines in the world, especially L'Uomo Vogue, Italian Vogue, Italian Harper's .... :X
