One of the top male models at Wilhelmina is Bill Curry, an Athens, Ohio native and a graduate of Ohio State University.
Mr.Curry, 28, is meets Mr.Deely's requirements for a standard-sized male, He's 6 feet, 1 inch tall, and 170 punds with dark hair and high cheekbones. He first broke into the modeling business four years ago. He was on the June cover of the national Gentleman's Quarterly magazine, GQ.
While at Ohio State, Mr. Curry began modeling for a Columbus department store, Later, he got a job as a flight attendant for Eastern Airlines; he was based in New York.
"We were grounded for a while, so I decided to try the modeling thing again", Mr. Curry says.
"I beat the streets for about six months trying to find an agency that would take me, finally Dan Deely from Wilhelmina took me.
"It's just been incredible, It's just been a great experience and financially rewarding, too. And, I have traveled all over the world to places like South Africa, Europe, Africa, all the islands, and I even speak Italian now.
"Right now, we're in the middle of the Christmas season so I'm working at least 30 hours a week, When I did the men's Fashion Shows here, I did 33 shows and rehearsals in five days.
Though Mr.Curry is succeeding as a model, he said it's not easy to break into the field.
"Modeling is by far one of the hardest businesses in the world to break into, I know a lot of people who were Top Models in Dallas and Chicago, and they do very well there, but they come to New York and they do anything"
