WOW! Just before his death ... I've checked his Wikipedia file (http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Albert_Delegue) and unfortunately it's not correct. He actually died of Aids in Portugal. When Paris Match magazine run his obituary cover, Karl Lagerfeld promptly tried to collect all the possible copies around Paris ... He was such a great model!
btw, months ago I visited a blog and a man wrote that many of the male models of the early 80's died of AIDS, Matt Collins, Billy Gleason and others, do you know if it's true?
You must know how protective is Mr. Lagerfeld regarding close friends and Albert was no exception. Mr. Lagerfeld didn't want the news published in Paris Match (#2402 from 8/6/1995) to reach the public.
I believe nobody, mostly his parents (mother is portuguese) wanted to tell he real cause of his dead, and instead they said he died by accident near Lisbon while doing jet-ski. The autopsy has been done in Portugal and confirmed it was AIDS.
This interview section is from the Paris Match issue I've mentioned (cover picture http://delegue.chez.com/alber44a.jpg).
I'm not sure but the Bali editorial could have been published in L'Uomo Vogue, I have a slight idea of getting rid of L'Uomos with Albert editorials featuring another models ...
I first read about Albert Delegue's death in the summer of 1995 as a teenager. That was the year I first started seriously becoming interested in male models. I remember his hearing he had suffered a 'brutal death.' That seemed vague even at the time, so I'm not surprised to hear the truth. I just wish the industry didn't have so much homophobia and hypocrisy. If you don't know, Albert was buried in his mother's village.
I think I found among my magazine collection the Bali session Albert's mother mentioned. There's a 8 pages editorial from Per Lui March 1986 shot by Pamela Hanson in a beach (styling by Brana Wolf). The main focus is obviously on model John Pearson, and Albert only appears in one photo from behind, playing with John.
I hope she is, even though she was already in her seventies at the time. I'd like to meet her. About Albert modelling in 1986, he could have had an early try at modelling that did not work out, and when he later succeeded they decided to say that he never modelled prior to 1990 to make his story more of a success.
I guess Albert and John were friends. I've come to love John. He's remained so handsome and appealing, and even today stands out in a pic no matter whom else is with him.
Forgive me but at this moment I'm not able to snap anything. Sorry! A picture from the editorial can be seen at http://www.modelscomposites.com/fullsize.php?count=9

her mom tells about an editorial in Bali with Albert Delegue and John Pearson, do you know what magazine it is?

@Pedro , 1986? wow! I never imagined that Albert was modeling in 1986, the very first pictures I've seen of him are from 1990.
is there a way that you could snap those pictures? =) I'm dying to see that.
@Gaby, sadly the modeling world is so cruel, I wonder if his mom is still alive.
I hope she is, even though she was already in her seventies at the time. I'd like to meet her. yes, that's why I was wondering, she is like 86 now.
In that interview her mom tells that John Pearson was on the top when he met Albert, and John was on the top around 1989, not 1986.
very interesting =)
I guess Albert and John were friends. I've come to love John. He's remained so handsome and appealing, and even today stands out in a pic no matter whom else is with him.
I also like John a lot, he and Walter are my favourite models of the late 80's, they both have something very friendly that I like.
and yes, as far as I know John was the only model friend that Albert Delegue had in the fashion industry.
Forgive me but at this moment I'm not able to snap anything. Sorry!
A picture from the editorial can be seen at http://www.modelscomposites.com/fullsize.php?count=9
absolutely no problem =) thanks for the link.
OK...ENOUGH OF THIS TRASH TALK.
ALBERT DIED IN PORTUGAL IN A BAR FIGHT FROM A STAB WOUND.
MATT COLLINS IS A HORSE TRAINER AND JUDGE LIVING HAPPILY IN EASTERN USA.
BILLY GLEASON IS MARRIED, FATHER OF GREAT KIDS AND DOING JUST FINE.
WHY DOES EVERYONE WANT MALE MODELS TO EITHER BE GAY, DEAD, INFECTED OR ALL OF THE ABOVE?
no trash talk at all, there has been a lot of mistery around the death of Albert, that's why people comment what they know ;)
how could we know you are telling the truth ;)
