Born in Milan, Italy, Paolo Seganti (1965) used the boxing ring as a surrogate stage, winning the Italian Amateur Championship within six months and continuing fighting and acting (theatre) on and off for 5 years. It was in the boxing ring that he was discovered by a fashion photographer.

He went on to launch a career as a print and runway model, working with renowned photographers such as
Bruce Weber, Jean-Paul Goude, Peter Lindbergh, Jean-Baptiste Mondino, supermodels Cindy Crawford and Linda Evangelista and designers including Calvin Klein, Versace and Yves Saint Laurent.

Paolo began working extensively on the New York stage receiving critical acclaim and sell-out audiences for his lead roles in EQUUS and the self-directed WHOSE LIFE IS IT ANYWAY which immediately alerted Hollywood to his potential. Paolo heralded his film debut with Woody Allen's EVERYONE SAYS I LOVE YOU, quickly followed by Johnny Stompanato in Curtis Hanson's multi-award winner LA CONFIDENTIAL, the independent feature STILL BREATHING co-starring opposite Brendan Fraser, and Franco Zefferelli's TEA WITH MUSSOLINI alongside Cher, Judi Dench and Joan Plowright.

When Seganti made his American daytime television debut on AS THE WORLD TURNS in 1993, he had already completed a high-profile supporting role as Johnny Stompanato in the critically acclaimed film L.A. Confidential.

Paolo rejoined the cast of the long-running daytime drama AS THE WORLD TURNS as "Damian Grimaldi" in March of 2009. He previously played the role from 1993-1996 and made brief returns to the show in 1997, 2001 and 2006. In 1995 he was nominated for a Soap Opera Digest Award for Hottest Male Star. In 1997, he was nominated for two more Soap Opera Digest Awards.

During his time away from Oakdale, Seganti has worked steadily in film, theater and television all over the world, including as the lead in the international hit show Largo Winch for two seasons. He executive produced the award-winning 2000 documentary Dark Days and made appearances on shows such as Eyes, The Closer, Related, and E.R.

Seganti has written four books. The first, The Tin Funnel, came out in May in Europe.

Seganti and his wife Carlotta currently reside in Los Angeles, CA with their four children. He celebrates his birthday on May 20.
